MANCHESTER United have rewarded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his excellent start as caretaker manager by offering the norwegian a new 25-year contract.

Should Solskjaer accept the deal, he will be initially tied down to the club until the 2044/45 season with the option to extend the terms by a further 25 years if both parties are satisfied.

The deal is being reported as a “world’s first” given not only its
extraordinary length spanning 2 and half decades but also it is the first football contract to have the salary section left blank with a note below simply reading: ‘Insert any number here’.

The 46-year-old now faces the difficult decision of choosing between the offer from United and a new 3-year deal offered to him by Molde.

Reports also suggest Marcus Rashford will be handed a fresh new 25-year deal as well with the option for him to move into a coaching role at the club sometime around the late 2030s.
