A petition demanding the NFL never allow Maroon 5, the New England Patriots or the LA Rams to appear at the Super Bowl again, has reached over 100 million signatures in just 12 hours.

The potential ban which would also extend to fellow halftime performers Travis Scott and Big Boi, demands that “no one associated with Super Bowl LIII should ever be allowed to appear at another Super Bowl for at least 100 years”. The petition suggests extending the ban to 200 years for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady “just in case” they are still alive and active in the NFL by the year 2119.

At the time of writing almost half of the entire U.S. population had signed the petition, with many social commentators calling it a potential turning point for the United States. One noted that “never before have Americans come together like this to passionately hate something since soccer was first introduced”.

However one well known public figure in the States, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was less than happy with the widespread hate for Levine and tweeted his disgust:

“I am way more hated than Ab-less Adam Levine (who wishes he had my body) and No-talent Maroon 5. I’m told every single day that I am definitely the most hated person in America and quite possibly the whole world. #MakeAmericaHateAgain”
