The winner, RTE announced, will “win a prize greater than any world title, a seat next to Liam Brady.” The news comes at a time when tensions are high between the two after Giles was voted off the panel and replaced by Sadlier for the Rep. of Ireland’s game with Scotland. Sadlier refused to comment on any bad blood between the pair but sent a chilling message: “I’ll do my talking in the Octagon.”

Giles quipped back: “I’ll bitch slap that prick so hard he’ll choke on Dunphy’s dick. Hey-oooo.” Giles has even offered to waive his RTE appearance fee for the event saying: “I just want to be on television.”

Dana White labelled the main card at UFC 204 as “potentially the greatest fight in the history of the UFC.” White continued: “I know I’ve said this like 203 times before, but I really think that THIS fight is the big one. At least until UFC 205…” Conor McGregor was disappointed that his bout with RTE panelist Kenny “the eyebrows” Cunningham was not the main event but was predictably humble about the decision: “When I first saw Richie Sadlier on the RTE panel, I thought ‘I’d love to see John Giles box him right across the face.’ Who am I, as the Greatest Fighter in History, to deny these men, the centre stage?”

Critics have been quick to draw comparisons between Rocky VI and Giles v Sadlier and Giles seemed pleased with the comparison: “I’m the Rocky Balboa of punditry and like him I will remain undefeated. He won the last fight right?”

When asked who he thought would win the fight, Eamon Dunphy said he couldn’t choose: “That’s like asking me to choose between two of my children. I just hope my name is mentioned as often as possible.”

120,000 people are expected to squeeze into Croke Park for the historic fight as Dublin City Council relaxed several regulations. Taoiseach Enda Kenny applauded Dublin city for its decision: “I’m all in favour of strict regulations for country music stars but I’m glad that the council sees how much this event means to the people of Ireland.”

The undercard for UFC 194 includes GSP vs Anderson Silva, Conor McGregor vs Kenny “the eyebrows” Cunningham and Ronda Rousey vs Kimbo Slice.
