WASHINGTON, DC—Donald Trump has this morning moved to clarify controversial remarks he made regarding a group of congresswomen, all of whom happen to be women of colour, after he was seen to be falsely implying that they weren’t natural-born American citizens.

Trump drew widespread criticism for his remarks which were deemed racist by most, forcing the American president to respond during his daily briefing with Fox and Friends.

Speaking to the show’s diverse panel of hosts, Trump explained that when he suggested that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar “should go back where they came from” he was simply referring to the kitchen and was definitely not suggesting that the women were not American based on the colour of their skin.

“Typical fake news media totally twisting my words,” Trump told Fox’s Brian Kilmeade. “In no way at all was I insinuating that these women should go back to their home countries, I was saying these broads should go back to the kitchen.”

“As long as they go back to their kitchens and shut up, I don’t care what country they go to,” he revealed, while still hinting that it would be “obviously preferable” if the women did in fact go back to their “own countries” all the same.

Trump continued, explaining how the brains of female congresswomen were simply not as big as men’s, and particular his, causing the women to get confused.

“Like, they think everything I say is racist or sexist. Women’s brains just can’t function like ours so they should go back where they will be so much happier, the kitchen.

As Mike [Pence] always says: ‘a woman’s place is in the kitchen, serving her husband and God’. I keep telling him ‘Mike it’s 2019, a woman’s place is also in the bedroom or the locker room or wherever I grab her’.

It’s a whole new world out there’ I say, but he doesn’t listen!”

When asked if he was referring to the kitchen the entire time, why did he describe these ‘places’ as ‘crime infested‘, Trump hesitated before talking at length about how not many people know that “so much” crime happens in the kitchen. “Haven’t you ever watched Dateline NBC?” he asked.

Did you know… Donald Trump once appeared on an episode of Dateline NBC? He wasn’t booked for the show, he just happened to be in the neighbourhood. Help the BSJ make the news great again by following us on Facebook and Twitter, or supporting us on out Patreon!
