VANCOUVER, BC—A recent immigrant from Denmark has been forced to take to Reddit to ask “how much longer” Vancouver’s 420 festival is expected to last, claiming it seems to have taken place everyday since he arrived.

In a lengthy post about his time in Vancity, the young man explained that he hasn’t seen any noticeable difference between April 20th and every other day he’s been here.

“Oh I thought it was just for one day,” the 27-year-old asked naively on r:vancouver, “but people are still getting stoned it seems.”

After arriving in Vancouver on 420 Erik Christensen headed straight to the 40,000-strong pro-marijuana rally at Sunset Beach. “It was amazing, everyone was getting stoned, kids, grannies, business people, it was incredible,” he remarked.

However upon returning the following day, the Dane was “shocked” to see absolutely no change whatsoever. “I tried to ask people people what they were celebrating today, but they all just shrugged, ‘uhhhh Tuesday?’ ”

Unable to get a straight answer, the puzzled Dane next asked random pedestrians why so many people were smoking weed at 1pm, but claims respondents either laughed in his face or offered him a toke.

“And not just at the beach, people are smoking everywhere, all the time,” Mr. Christensen, who has never visited Vancouver before, observed. “They smoke at the park, in the mountains, Tim Hortons, the bank, everywhere. Even the art gallery.”

Maintaining that he could have just gone to Amsterdam if he wanted to visit a rainy city where people ride bikes and smoke weed all day, Erik looks forward to enjoying the city after the festivities have ended.

“I mean I assume it’s almost over now, surely only a few more days?” he asked, adding that he’d like to see what Vancouver looked like once marijuana is actually legalized.
