Al-Ettifaq FC fans desperate to know if Jordan Henderson would get a testimonial have had their prayers answered this morning with the news that their idol is set to return to the club for a one-off game next month.
Henderson will lead out an Al-Ettifaq legends team on February 14th, the Saudi team have confirmed, against a Legends XI team featuring several of the worlds best stars including Neymar, Ronaldo and Benzema.
Not to be outdone, Al-Ettifaq’s All-Star XI will feature several Al-Ettifaq legends such as Khalil Al-Zayani and Jamal Muhammad, both now in their mid 70’s, as well as Gerard as manager.
Tickets for the game are already the fastest selling Al Hilal game in history with as many as 300 people expected to witness the return of their former captain.
Henderson has refused any compensation for the appearance and instead asked that all proceeds from the game be donated in his name to HM Revenue & Customs.
