The potential next American president Donald J Trump, has told Rolling Stone that he sees himself as the most inspiring person “the world has ever known”.
Trump was speaking to the magazine about some of the great leaders of modern time, and where he himself ranks:
“You know I’ve always thought people like Mother Theresa, Ghandi and Nelson Mandela were highly overrated,” he replied. “I mean how many of Gandhi’s wives were a 10, huh? Not many I’d say.”
The self-made billionaire stopped short of stating he was bigger than God, but claimed he managed to perform a miracle “even better” than Jesus’ “loaves and fishes trick”.
“When I was 18, my Dad kicked me out onto the street with absolutely nothing but some pocket change. Yet somehow, in a small town like Manhattan, I managed to turn that pittance into the vast fortune I claim to have amassed today.”
Trump also declared his personal triumphs over adversity should be a source of optimism for not only all Americans, but the wider world. “Just look at what I have achieved despite my obviously limited mental capacity. I am the American dream.”
