OTTAWA, ON—Justin Trudeau today told reporters outside the House of Commons that he has “absolutely no relationship with China whatsoever” while speaking in fluent Cantonese.

“These rumours bring great shame on the Canadian media and the whole of Canada,” Trudeau said in the Chinese language, before repeating the statement in Mandarin so as to make “doubly sure” there was no doubting his lack of ties to the People’s Republic.

“I have no relationship to China or anyone in that country,” the Prime Minister said through a Chinese-to-English translator, claiming that the accusations were yet another sign of “blatant racism” towards the Liberal Party. “The idea that me or my party are in bed with China is as stupid as suggesting Taiwan is an independent country,” he added.

“Maybe one day we will live in a country free of racism where a political party won’t be questioned about their repeated links to a foreign regime during an election,” Trudeau said with a slight Beijingese accent, adding that he hoped the Chinese government would not be “put off from trading with such a blatantly racist country like Canada”.

Trudeau also said that he had been personally assured that China “had never interfered with Canadian politics” by Xi Jinping himself during an extensive TikTok call.

The PM also revealed that President Xi had even offered the assistance of the Chinese authorities to investigate the alleged claims, saying that China “could have a police presence set up across Canada within the hour”.

The Canadian PM then finished the impromptu press conference by bowing repeatedly to the assembled media and posing for photos with some tourists while making the peace sign.
