Lady Who Raised 10 Vegan Cats Claims The One That Lived Is Doing Great

NELSON, BC—A woman who raised 10 cats on strict vegan diets has claimed the one that lived is “doing great”.

Lily Daniels, who operates a vegan farm sanctuary, cites her “success” as definitive proof that cats and other animals can be raised without eating meat or animal products.

“I’ve successfully raised deer, cows, horses and goats, all on meat-free diets,” she explained. “And now finally, cats. It’s a major breakthrough.”

The 43-year-old claims forcing her feline friends to eat lentils, tofu and beans was a struggle at first, given that cats are known carnivores, and says she often thought about giving up:

“It wasn’t easy. Five of them starved to death within the first two weeks and the rest just tried to eat each other, so initially I was a little concerned that it wasn’t possible.”

“But I persisted. Even though they tried to run away every single night, luckily they could never really walk or jump that much, for some reason,” she added, noting it was probably down to “some pre-existing condition” all the cats had.

As for the one to survive, he is about to celebrate his second birthday (with a lemon and lavender birthday cake) and Lily says he is now “the happiest cat on the farm”.

“He’s the most chill cat ever. He’s just lies there all day long, sometimes for weeks and weeks at a time. Just your typical cat really,” she gushed, preparing a kale and chickpea salad, “his favourite”.
