MANCHESTER, UK—Manchester United have confirmed they have received a formal offer for midfielder Nemanja Matic from an unnamed North London club.
The offer, which was recieved yesterday morning at approximately 7:01am, came from a club not previously linked with Matic but who have suddenly earmarked the 32-year-old as their top transfer target in January.
Speculation is rife as to which North London club it could be with Arsenal, Leyton Orient, Tottenham Hotspurs, West Ham and Barnet all potential suitors for the Serbian international.
Standing next to a large map of London with a giant question mark on it, Sky Sports News’ Jim White screamed, “It could be literally anyone,” before throwing live to a reporter at Loftus Road to see if Matic’s agent had turned up there.
Further confusing the matter, the transfer offer received by United also included an additional request asking if anyone at the club had a phone number for Marouane Fellaini.
