Furniture to be flashy but unpredictable, “The essence of Zlatan.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has sensationally announced that he is to retire from football and turn to the world of home furnishings. Zlatan made the announcement on twitter, tweeting:
RT @Ibra_official: Yes @IKEA. Zlatan has won many battles and he will win the home furnishings war too #ZlatansSwedishWood. IKEA Canada responded to the story saying they could not confirm or deny the article:
Ibrahimovic is set to sign a 5 year deal with IKEA and has also committed to playing for the IKEA staff local football team in Richmond, BC Canada. IKEA Richmond head Chase Taylor denied that Zlatan’s arrival was solely based on Zlatan’s footballing ability. “While I can’t deny that it will be great playing alongside Zlatan for IKEA Richmond in the IKEA Canada Championship, he can also build stuff or whatever.”
This astonishing new deal follows hot on the heels of Zlatan’s own search engine overtaking google as the worlds most popular search engine, only 3 months after launching.
Zlatan stated that while it was not in his nature to sell-out, the €290,000-a-week forward said that moving into the home furnishings industry was a natural progression for any Swede. “Obviously the lure of working with furniture is something no Swede can ever resist. I am surprised I lasted this long to be honest.”
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was disappointed but understood the determination of Ibrahimovic. “Obviously we knew that this guy was crazy when we signed him so I’m not surprised at all,” he told reporters at Parc de Princes.
